Analytical Development Research Scientist

Job Description

• Conduct analytical chemistry activities for small-molecule pharmaceutical development programs in Vertex’s Analytical Development group in Boston, MA.
• Characterize and assess the stability of drug substances, spray-dried dispersions, and drug products; analyze, interpret, and present complex data to guide project decisions.
• Design and perform technically challenging experiments, troubleshoot laboratory equipment including LCs, and maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebook records.
• Support method validation using ICH and FDA guidelines, GMP-friendly methods, and applicable SOPs; represent Analytical Development on cross-functional pharmaceutical development teams.
• Requires a BS, Master’s degree, or Ph.D. in life or physical sciences, with experience of Ph.D. 0–3 years, MS 3+ years, or BS 6+ years in relevant analytical development; on-site five days per week in Boston, MA.
