Assistant Professor of Film and Media Studies

Job Description

• Tenure-track, full-time, on-site Assistant Professor role in Film and Media Studies at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO, beginning August 2027.
• Teach six courses annually, including Basic Filmmaking, Advanced Filmmaking, Senior Thesis: Creative, and introductory/advanced topics in production and post-production.
• Teach hands-on filmmaking skills including directing, camera technology, sound recording, editing, and potentially a secondary area such as sound design, animation, cinematography, visual effects, screenwriting, or new media.
• Requires an MFA or PhD in filmmaking/film production, visual design, cinematography, or a related field by the start of employment; extraordinary experience may substitute for the terminal degree.
• Requires broad end-to-end filmmaking experience, undergraduate teaching and mentoring commitment, and a record of creative work screened at festivals, museums, broadcast, theatrical, streaming, or related venues.
