Job Description
• Tenure-track Assistant Professor role at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND; work is onsite at the UND Grand Forks campus.
• Establish a nationally recognized independent experimental physics research program, preferably using UND’s new Nanofoundry and aligned with National Security & Space, Big Data, Energy and Sustainability, and/or Autonomous Systems.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate physics courses, with no more than two courses per academic year, and supervise undergraduate and graduate research; anticipated effort is 25% teaching, 70% research, and 5% service for the first 2–3 years.
• Requires a PhD in Physics or a closely related field by 12/01/2026, ITAR/CUI project clearance requiring U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, and successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.
• Compensation is $75,000+ for a 9-month contract, dependent on experience; exempt, 40 hours per week. Applications must be received by 12/01/2026.
