Job Description
• Tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the University of Colorado Boulder’s Department of Applied Mathematics, beginning August 2027; full-time role in Boulder, CO.
• Develop and conduct an independent, externally fundable research program in computational mathematics or physical applied mathematics, with interests including nonlinear waves, dynamical systems, applied PDEs, asymptotic methods, mathematical physics, machine learning/AI, or quantum science.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses such as numerical analysis, convex and non-convex optimization, theoretical machine learning, dynamical systems, nonlinear waves, partial differential equations, and asymptotic methods.
• Advise graduate students and perform research, teaching, and service under a 40%/40%/20% allocation.
• Requires a Ph.D. or equivalent in mathematics, applied mathematics, physics, or a related field by the start date; postdoctoral and teaching experience are desired.
• Salary: $115,000–$130,000; apply by November 8, 2026.
