Associate Director, Translational Data Science - Translational Medicine and Bioinformatics

Job Description

• Lead translational data science for AstraZeneca’s Immunology therapeutic area in Kendall Square, Boston, integrating and interpreting large-scale multimodal datasets, especially single-cell and spatial omics.
• Define AI-driven analytical approaches to identify disease mechanisms, therapeutic hypotheses, biomarkers, patient subgroups, and precision medicine opportunities supporting drug discovery through clinical development.
• Provide scientific leadership for machine learning, large language models, biological foundation models, and frontier AI applied to biological data, while serving as the quality arbiter for biological validity and translational relevance.
• Requires a relevant PhD or equivalent and at least 6+ years of applied experience, substantial Immunology and/or Cell Therapy research experience, and expertise in single-cell omics, spatial omics, multimodal integration, and Python or R.
• Full-time hybrid role requiring an average minimum of three office days per week; base salary is $143,323.20-$214,984.80, with closing date of 23-Oct-2026.
