Bioinformatics Professor

Job Description

• Continuing faculty status (CFS) Bioinformatics Professor position in Brigham Young University's Department of Biology, located in Provo, UT; requires relocation and/or residence in Utah.
• Teach undergraduate, upper-division, and graduate courses including BIO 165, BIO 264, bioinformatics, data analysis, and machine learning, while developing biologically meaningful computational curricula.
• Establish and maintain an externally visible research program involving mentored undergraduate and graduate students in bioinformatics, computational biology, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or related data-driven biological research.
• Requires a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a closely related field completed by the start date, plus demonstrated teaching ability and an active relevant research program.
• Faculty responsibilities include student mentoring, departmental and university service, compliance with BYU's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards, and applicable mission-alignment and temple-recommend requirements.
