Job Description

• Full-time Apprentice Teacher role with Uncommon Schools in Brooklyn, New York City, within a charter school education environment.
• Designed for talented individuals with limited or no teaching experience; provides classroom practice, professional development, coaching, and a pathway toward full-time or lead-teacher positions.
• Teach assigned content across multiple grades, implement curricula and assessments, analyze assessment data, and gradually assume classroom-teaching responsibilities.
• Provide daily one-on-one and small-group tutoring, interventions, student supervision, mentoring, behavior support, and family/colleague communication.
• Observe Master Teachers, co-teach, provide substitute coverage, assist with grading and instruction, and participate in a three-week annual staff orientation and training.
