Certified Dental Assistant

Job Description

• Provides chairside and oral-surgery assistance under the clinical supervision of staff dentists in restorative, prosthodontic, periodontic, endodontic and other procedures.
• Prepares treatment rooms, instruments, supplies and patients; monitors vital signs, passes instruments, suctions, retracts and follows four-handed dentistry procedures.
• Performs dental-support tasks including sealants, custom trays, study models, night guards or stints, charting, sterilization, equipment maintenance and supply inventory.
• Provides patient education, post-surgery and denture-care instructions, discharge guidance and scheduling liaison support for families and group homes.
• Requires an approved Dental Assistant program with Dental Assisting National Board certification, or 3,500 approved work hours plus accredited x-ray certification; BLS certification and successful completion of the Dental Assisting National Board within three months of hire are required.
• Full-time, on-site day position in Providence, RI, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm; pay range is $27.33-$28.57.
