Chess Instructor | Fall

Job Description

• Part-time, on-site Chess Instructor role teaching 1–5 weekday-afternoon classes per week at local schools in Mill Valley, CA.
• Lead interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students using a structured curriculum covering chess fundamentals, piece movement, basic strategy, simple tactics, sportsmanship, problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Manage classroom engagement and behavior, supervise students during arrival, dismissal, and activities, and follow school safety protocols.
• Requires experience working with groups of children, strong chess fundamentals, reliable personal transportation, punctuality, time-management skills, and willingness to drive between locations.
• Pays $55–$75 per class; typical classes last approximately 1.5 hours and include setup, instruction, and post-class responsibilities.
