CTE/Vocation Teacher

Job Description

• Full-time, year-round, on-site CTE/Vocation Teacher position at Liberty Point Academy in Staunton, VA, serving adolescent males in trauma-informed psychiatric residential treatment.
• Supervise, instruct, evaluate, and provide pre-vocational training in areas including gardening, drafting, woodworking, landscaping, horticulture, automotive, cooking, custodial maintenance, and construction.
• Develop lessons and projects aligned with IEP/IPP goals; assess and document academic and behavioral progress, and adjust instruction and behavioral strategies in coordination with the treatment team.
• Requires a bachelor's degree and current Virginia/out-of-state SPED or General Curriculum K-12 teaching license, Technical Professional License, or qualifying provisional license; three years of classroom experience and a VA driver's license are preferred.
• Must complete Handle With Care and Verbal De-escalation Crisis Intervention Training and facility-approved First Aid/CPR training; pre-hire drug screening, background checks, and education verification are required.
