Job Description
• Support electrical distribution system studies and project development within Xcel Energy’s Integrated Distribution Planning team.
• Perform power flow studies, distribution project development, long-range distribution planning, and community solar garden interconnection evaluations.
• Help plan distribution-system expansion for new growth, building electrification, electric vehicles, and distributed generation including solar, batteries, synchronous generation, and wind.
• Must be a current sophomore-or-higher student as of Fall 2027 pursuing Electrical Engineering or Power Systems at an ABET-accredited college or university; programming experience and Circuits/Power Systems coursework are preferred.
• Hybrid Denver, CO internship beginning May 31, 2027, paying $21.20–$24.60 per hour, with summer full-time and school-year part-time scheduling.
