Earth Systems Scientist

Job Description

• Senior Earth Systems Scientist role with The MITRE Corporation in McLean, VA; full-time and onsite, requiring at least 3 days per week onsite.
• Characterize, evaluate, and assess earth systems science methods, models, datasets, emerging technologies, uncertainties, data quality, and deployment challenges.
• Analyze observational, remote sensing, geospatial, and model datasets to develop evidence-based recommendations and support mission decision-making for national security and critical infrastructure applications.
• Requires a BS and 5 years of relevant experience in an earth science, environmental science, engineering, physics, data science, or related discipline; an MS with 3 years or a PhD is preferred.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government security clearance; Secret clearance must be obtained within one year of hire.
