Finance Counselor

Job Description

• Full-time Finance Counselor role with Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, CA.
• Provides point-of-service financial counseling for inpatient and outpatient self-pay accounts and establishes payer sources.
• Evaluates third-party liability, Workers’ Compensation, commercial insurance, COB, Medicare, and Medi-Cal eligibility; obtains pre-authorizations and coordinates alternate payer identification.
• Determines Medical Financial Assistance and payment arrangements, completes applications, and arranges direct payment, government-program enrollment, or patient billing.
• Requires compliance with Kaiser Permanente policies and applicable state, federal, and local laws; uses Foundations and other online systems to verify eligibility and maintain complete billing documentation.
