Forensics Lab Assistant

Job Description

• Perform specimen accessioning for 5,000-11,000 samples per day, including receiving, tracking, inspecting, logging, labeling, and preparing samples for laboratory testing.
• Handle primarily urine specimens, along with blood, serum, plasma, and body-fluid samples; aliquot, centrifuge, or freeze samples as needed.
• Maintain samples in walk-in refrigerators and freezers and manage storage/disposal workflows after 3, 6, or 12 months.
• Operate multiple computer software systems and verify specimen names against requisitions; receive international and U.S. courier shipments.
• Contract, fully onsite role in Minneapolis, MN, working Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; on-the-job training provided, with potential for full-time employment.
