Founding Platform Engineer -- Ruby on Rails

Job Description

• Founding, most-senior individual contributor and first dedicated platform engineer, working fully remotely from an approved US state.
• Own the Platform Engineering roadmap and architect, build, and operate scalable Ruby on Rails services, Kubernetes infrastructure, AWS cloud architecture, deployment pipelines, and CI/CD tooling.
• Build the AI platform, including LLM orchestration, agent infrastructure, prompt management, evaluation pipelines, model routing, and AI observability.
• Own billing, subscriptions, licensing, payments, usage metering, invoicing, Stripe integrations, and secure enterprise integrations using REST APIs, OAuth, SAML, SCIM, and webhooks.
• Requires 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, expert Ruby on Rails production SaaS experience, strong React/full-stack capability, distributed-systems expertise, and experience leading complex initiatives without direct people management.
• Compensation is $163K–$185K plus bonus; full-time W2. SOC 2, cloud security, compliance, AI/LLM, Terraform/Helm, and event-driven architecture experience are preferred.
