Gas Buyer Trader

Job Description

• Buy and sell natural gas for Xcel Energy's regulated assets, executing multi-million-dollar commodity transactions involving physical supply agreements and financial derivatives.
• Develop daily, annual, and long-range gas supply plans; model supply requirements and perform real-time analysis to maintain reliable gas and electric service.
• Negotiate gas purchases, sales agreements, derivatives, and short- and long-term hedges while optimizing transportation and storage assets through arbitrage.
• Produce regulatory testimony, numerical models, documentation, and responses for state commission proceedings, rate cases, fuel reconciliation, and regulatory litigation.
• Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience, at least 3 years of natural gas industry experience, direct gas buying/trading or gas transportation-scheduler analyst experience, and knowledge of FERC regulations; hybrid Denver role with 6am–3pm hours and holiday/weekend rotational coverage.
