Genomic Selection and Sensor-Based Phenotyping for Space-Relevant Plant Research

Job Description

• Conduct postdoctoral research on genomic selection and sensor-based phenotyping for space-relevant plant research in Merritt Island, FL.
• Develop or propose original research evaluating plant cultivars, genetic biomarkers, genome-editing traits, and crop performance in controlled-environment agriculture and ground-based spaceflight analogs.
• Collect and analyze phenotypic and genetic data using genomic prediction workflows and high-throughput phenotyping methods.
• Use hyperspectral reflectance and fluorescence, lidar, and thermal imaging to characterize plant structural and physiological responses.
• Apply prior knowledge of genomic selection and prediction from applied agricultural sciences; work mode is not specified. Job type: Internship/postdoctoral fellowship opportunity.
