Head of State Government Affairs

Job Description

• Lead Liberty Mutual's state government affairs function, including regional officers, lobbying and trade association resources, team budget, strategies, operating plans, and measurable objectives.
• Coach and develop a geographically dispersed team while setting direction, delegating, providing feedback, building bench strength, and promoting effective use of technology and AI.
• Build relationships with legislators, regulators, executive-branch officials, trade associations, coalitions, and other stakeholders to advance enterprise policy objectives.
• Advise senior executives and business stakeholders on complex state legislative, administrative, regulatory, political, insurance, and business issues while managing risk and competing priorities.
• Requires a Bachelor's degree, typically 15+ years of progressively responsible experience, leadership of multi-state strategies and teams, and ability to travel as needed; Juris Doctor or another advanced relevant degree is preferred.
