Heavy Equipment Operator II

Job Description

• Full-time, on-site Heavy Equipment Operator II position with the Town of Vail in Vail, CO, supporting municipal Public Works operations.
• Operate light, medium, and heavy public works vehicles and equipment for street and structure construction, repairs, drainage maintenance, trash removal, sign fabrication, special events, and snow removal.
• Perform winter snowplowing and snow removal, including regular call-in scheduling, early mornings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Requires a high school diploma or GED, working knowledge of public works operations, hands-on loader/backhoe/dump truck experience, and experience working with the public.
• Requires a Commercial Driver’s License or ability to obtain one, a good driving record, and ability to obtain a Class B CDL within 30 days; must lift at least 100 lbs and work outdoors in varied conditions.
