In-Shop Power Generation Technician

Job Description

• Repair and maintain commercial/mobile ONAN and other make/model generators and their components in Cummins’ Distribution Business in Pontoon Beach, IL.
• Troubleshoot generators, replace internal components, operate a load bank, and use diagnostic tools with minimal supervision.
• Maintain detailed service records, follow Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies, maintain personal tools, and complete ongoing product development/certifications.
• Requires broad mechanical/electrical repair abilities, basic diesel engine experience, a vocational diploma, and current relevant electrical certification; fabricating experience and apprentice power-generation/electrical training are preferred.
• On-site-with-flexibility, full-time union-shop role with a Level II Technician salary range of $33.24–$39.50 and possible CDL/licensing requirements, including export-control compliance.
