Lead Teacher, Early Childhood

Job Description

• Lead an on-site early childhood classroom at Big Dreams Child Care's Avenue U center in southern Brooklyn, NY, serving infants through Pre-K.
• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction, routines, small-group learning, purposeful play, and individualized care.
• Maintain staff-to-child ratios, health and safety standards, required documentation, and full compliance with NYC DOHMH Article 47 regulations.
• Direct one to three Assistant Teachers, conduct developmental observations and assessments, and communicate daily with families through Brightwheel and in person.
• Requires NYC Article 47 group-teacher qualification, at least one year of lead-teacher experience in a licensed early childhood program, required NYC DOHMH clearances, CPR/First Aid certification, mandated reporter training, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
