Job Description

• Provide mechanical design, custom fabrication, and technical support for critical nuclear/radiochemistry R&D and operational programs in a fully onsite Los Alamos, NM setting.
• Design and fabricate high-precision parts and systems using CNC/manual lathes and mills and EDM wire; produce technical drawings, documentation, and quality assurance materials.
• Consult with scientists, engineers, researchers, and diverse internal customers to define requirements and determine robust mechanical solutions.
• Requires an AAS in Machining Technologies or equivalent precision metalworking program plus 6 years of experience, or an equivalent related combination of education and experience.
• Requires ability to obtain a Q clearance, normally requiring U.S. citizenship, plus a federal background investigation and new-employment drug test.
