Manager, Shift Operations (Day Shift) Defense Waste Processing Facility (DWPF)

Job Description

• Lead safe, efficient day-shift operations at the Defense Waste Processing Facility (DWPF) in the nuclear industry at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC.
• Direct operations personnel and coordinate matrix responsibilities across Maintenance, E&I, Work Control, Laboratory, Construction, QA, IH, Technical and HP functions.
• Enforce nuclear safety, operational, environmental, security, quality assurance and conduct-of-operations requirements, including authority to shut down plant operations when necessary.
• Schedule and track surveillance requirements, authorize work and plant configuration changes, and oversee equipment lockouts and maintenance-related activities.
• Requires nuclear-facility experience and one of several education pathways; preferred qualifications include 6+ years of nuclear experience, DWPF or Control Room Manager qualifications, engineering/science education and supervisory experience.
• Full-time, on-site role paying USD $116,000-$199,000 per year; facility qualification, classroom training, formal on-the-job training and an oral board examination must be completed within one year.
