Job Description
• Full-time, on-site Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Technologist role in Microbiology at Springfield - St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
• Conduct tests on blood, body fluids, cells, tissue, and other patient samples to detect health conditions and provide diagnostic data to physicians and healthcare providers.
• Use biomedical instrumentation, microscopes, and computers in clinical laboratory testing.
• Requires a bachelor's degree with biological science, chemistry, and mathematics coursework plus an accredited NAACLS MLS/MT program, or MLT ASCP certification with a bachelor's degree and 2 years of full-time accredited-lab experience.
• Requires or permits eligibility for certification through ASCP, NCA, AMT, HEW, or another nationally recognized laboratory certifying agency; certification must be obtained within 180 days of hire. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM, every other weekend.
