Medical Laboratory Scientist - Toxicology

Job Description

• Medical Laboratory Scientist role with Trinity Health in the Toxicology section at Warde Lab, 300 W Textile Rd., Ann Arbor, MI; full-time, 40 hours per week, day shift with an approximately 7:00 a.m. start.
• Perform clinical toxicology testing on urine and blood specimens for patient care, including instrument operation, specimen preparation, result reporting, and laboratory information system use.
• Operate HPLC, LCMSMS, and other chemistry analyzers; perform wet chemistry techniques, quality control, equipment maintenance, calibration, and preparation of standards and reagents.
• Record and report routine, stat, highly abnormal, and unexpected results; compare results with prior patient results and escalate unusual findings to supervisors or pathologists.
• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or biological, chemical, or medical technology; relevant medical laboratory experience is required if an MLS/MT degree is not obtained.
• Certification is not required; MT/MLT, MLS–ASCP, or NCLS certification is preferred. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable.
