Middle School Dean of Special Education

Job Description

• Lead the ongoing development, implementation, and administration of the school’s special education program for students with disabilities.
• Ensure IEP services, testing accommodations, behavior intervention plans, classroom modifications, and related compliance requirements are implemented effectively.
• Manage Special Education Coordinators and coordinate paraprofessionals, Related Service Providers, teachers, Social Workers, and English New Language Teachers.
• Collaborate with school and network leadership, families, and educators to support students’ academic, behavioral, and socio-emotional development.
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferred Master’s degree, Special Education teaching certification, and at least five years of teaching and leadership experience in an urban public or charter school setting.
