Middle School Math Teacher

Job Description

• Teach middle school mathematics using Uncommon Schools' in-house CCSS-based curriculum and culturally responsive problem-solving activities.
• Cover foundational topics including ratios/proportions, expressions/equations, and the number system while developing students' confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving perseverance.
• Differentiate instruction and analyze student work samples and assessments weekly with the principal and/or instructional coach.
• Collaborate with families, grade-level teams, and school-wide partners to support student learning, academic goals, community, and achievement.
• Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, mathematics or related academic expertise, and NJ certification eligibility; instructional staff must obtain New Jersey certification within a reasonable period after hire.
