Job Description

• Museum Conservation Scientist leading analytical research, conservation science initiatives, and preservation strategies for museum collections in Denver, CO.
• Investigate materials, deterioration processes, and preventive conservation approaches across organic, inorganic, and composite objects and anthropological, biological, geological, paleontological, and archival collections.
• Develop laboratory capacity, build research infrastructure, and acquire analytical instrumentation using pXRF, FTIR/Micro-FTIR, PLM, digital imaging, MBI, UV fluorescence, and IRR imaging.
• Share findings through internal and external research communication, public programs, and scholarly and popular publications while pursuing independent research.
• Full-time role with a Monday–Friday schedule, evenings and weekends as needed; no direct reports; hiring range of $80,000–$90,000.
