Power Plant Shift Supervisor

Job Description

• Senior-level, on-site Power Plant Shift Supervisor role with Kansas City Board of Public Utilities in Kansas City, KS, supporting 24/7 electric utility and power plant operations.
• Oversee hour-to-hour plant operations, assign tasks, coordinate staffing, and direct functions required to meet electric power system demand.
• Ensure safe, economical, reliable, and environmentally compliant equipment and coal-system operations, including coordination with Electric System Control during outages.
• Supervise, train, evaluate, and develop operating personnel; coordinate equipment availability for maintenance and provide senior supervision when senior superintendents are absent.
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years of progressive power plant operating experience, strong supervisory abilities, power plant operations knowledge, and understanding of regulatory and safety compliance standards; compensation is $130,000-$140,000 annually.
