Power Station Electrician

Job Description

• Perform inspections, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and testing of electrical equipment and systems at power stations and related facilities.
• Maintain and repair transformers, generators, bus leads, excitation control systems, motors up to 4000 HP, 5KV and 480V switchgear, motor control centers, and protective relays and controls.
• Maintain plant communications, 125 VDC battery, static inverter, emergency generator, pollution control, coal handling, alarm, lighting, and power distribution systems.
• Operate and retain qualification for mobile crane, forklift, and yard truck; work overtime, weekends, holidays, regular days off, and other schedules as needed.
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus a recognized five-year apprenticeship or several years of equivalent central power station or heavy-industry experience; $56.04/hour, full-time, Kansas City, KS.
