Pre-K Lead Teacher

Job Description

• Lead developmentally appropriate preschool education for a classroom of up to 20 children, supporting cognitive, language, physical, social, and emotional growth.
• Manage classroom safety, curriculum implementation, child observations, quarterly developmental assessments, and twice-yearly behavioral/social-emotional assessments using Teaching Strategies GOLD and DECA.
• Ensure compliance with state child care licensing regulations, federal Head Start Program Performance Standards, WCAP policy, and mandated abuse-reporting requirements.
• Coordinate special services with Child Development Services, conduct family conferences and home visits, and promote family participation.
• Supervise volunteers, visitors, Assistant Teachers, and Classroom Aides; provide training and annual evaluations.
• Requires teaching experience with infants and toddlers, Microsoft Office proficiency, a valid driver’s license, physical/TB screening, WCAP background clearance, DOE CHRC, and qualifying ECE education or CDA; full-time role in Unity, ME.
