Principal Software Development Engineer in Test (Performance & Bare-Metal)

Job Description

• Principal-level software development engineer in test responsible for VM/fleet test strategy, performance quality gates, and hypervisor behavior validation across an IaaS platform.
• Requires 12 years of testing experience, including performance testing, hypervisor platforms, and systems engineering or equivalent.
• Develops reproducible bare-metal VM test environments, automated performance benchmarks, statistical baselines, change-point detection, and CI/CD regression gates.
• Requires expertise in KVM/QEMU/libvirt internals, VM-exits, NUMA/cache performance effects, x86 and ARM debugging, Linux internals, and bare-metal/emulated environments.
• Uses Go, Python, Perl, Linux perf, VTune, eBPF, Bash, Jenkins, and SaltStack; work may be performed at home, in an office, or through a combination of both.
