Principal Software Engineer, Core Infrastructure

Job Description

• Principal-level software engineering role with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Cloud Performance Organization in Reston, VA; full-time, with work mode not specified.
• Lead the development and architecture of scalable, elastic distributed systems for high-throughput, hyperscale cloud workloads.
• Optimize OCI critical components, internal tools, and applications to address service inefficiencies, reduce cloud expenses, improve customer experience, and ensure scalability.
• Design fault-tolerant, highly available systems with observability, testing, replication, resilience mechanisms, and SLO alignment.
• Drive operational readiness, production troubleshooting, peer mentorship, security, compliance, infrastructure as code, and automation for safe patching, upgrades, and rollbacks.
