Registered Nurse Coding Auditor

Job Description

• Full-time Registered Nurse Coding Auditor role in Glen Cove, NY, with work mode not specified.
• Validate Acute Inpatient coded charts, DRG assignments, CDI-suggested code changes, and potential reassignments.
• Perform coding audits of Medicare and non-Medicare charts for compliance with coding guidelines, rules, conventions, and Federal and State regulations.
• Communicate DRG changes and rationale to coding and CDI staff and make documentation-related coding recommendations.
• Requires graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent education and related experience, and a current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license; ICD coding experience is highly preferred and inpatient acute rehab experience is preferred.
