Research Assistant I - Biochemistry & Molecular Biology

Job Description

• Part-time Research Assistant I working 20 hours per week in UTHealth Houston’s McGovern Medical School Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology in Houston, Texas.
• Conduct basic/translational research, including handling biological samples, laboratory experiments, data collection, and possible animal work according to research protocols.
• Organize laboratory reagents, prepare buffers, assist with mouse genotyping, maintain records and databases, and prepare research data for principal investigators and researchers.
• Requires a bachelor’s degree; no minimum experience is required, though a Biology, Biochemistry, or Cell Biology degree and some prior experience are preferred.
• Security-sensitive position requiring compliance with applicable Texas statutes, required training, critical-infrastructure security requirements when applicable, and permanent residence and work in Texas.
