Research Assistant I, Biochemistry, Nam Lab

Job Description

• Provide technical assistance for medical and scientific research in biochemistry under general direction.
• Perform DNA/RNA purification, PCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, protein expression and purification, in vitro transcription, and enzymatic assays.
• Prepare reagents, maintain laboratory records and inventory, analyze and document data, and comply with laboratory safety regulations.
• Collect, evaluate, and organize research data for scientific papers and project reports; collaborate on publication preparation.
• Requires qualifying education or equivalent research experience: from a relevant master's degree with no experience to a high school diploma/GED with 6 years of research experience, including 2 years at Research Technician level.
• Security-sensitive position subject to Texas Education Code 51.215 and criminal history record review.
