Job Description
• Full-time, 3-month Research Intern position from January through March 2027 with Hitachi America, Ltd.’s R&D / Industrial AI Laboratory in Santa Clara, CA.
• Develop and prototype an AI-powered knowledge platform integrating engineering and operational technology knowledge, technical documents, simulation assets, and domain expertise.
• Work across Generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Knowledge Graphs, Agentic AI, Information Retrieval, and Enterprise Knowledge Systems for industrial infrastructure, manufacturing, mobility, energy, and supply chain applications.
• Must be pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; strong Python skills and experience with LLMs are required.
• Compensation is estimated at $45–50/hr in California under California Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162).
