RIT Academic Advisor -- Part Time

Job Description

• Provide student-centered academic advising for College of Science students in a part-time, 20-hour-per-week, on-campus role in Rochester, NY.
• Monitor academic progress, degree requirements, graduation readiness, course registration, degree audits, transfer credits, and degree certification.
• Develop student academic and career plans, including co-op, internships, study abroad, resumes, fellowships, interviews, and post-college planning.
• Coordinate referrals to campus services, conduct student outreach, support retention initiatives, and collaborate with faculty, department chairs, deans' delegates, and university partners.
• Requires a master's degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience; FERPA knowledge and eligibility to work in the United States are required, with a possible criminal background and/or motor vehicle records check.
