Job Description
• Provide nursing care in a 42-bed Neurosciences ICU for neurosurgery, neurology, stroke, and trauma patients at a Level I Trauma Center.
• Work weekend AM or PM shifts on 7 a.m.-7 p.m. or 7 p.m.-7 a.m. schedules.
• Apply the nursing process and systematic critical-thinking approach to assessment, clinical judgment, intervention, evaluation, health teaching, and counseling.
• Participate in specialized neurocritical-care treatments, including external ventricular drainage (EVD) management for intracranial pressure (ICP) and intrathecal medication administration.
• Requires graduation from an accredited Nursing program, RN licensure or eligibility through the Alabama Board of Nursing, and AHA BLS certification within 30 days; ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on the department.
