Scheduling Coordinator - Thoracic Surgery

Job Description

• Coordinate and schedule thoracic surgeries, post-operative appointments, surgical clearances, pre-admission testing, procedures, diagnostic testing, and referrals in an on-site Jackson, MI healthcare setting.
• Obtain insurance authorizations, manage referrals, and support seamless patient care for thoracic surgery patients.
• Provide patient education and maintain high customer service standards while adhering to organizational protocols.
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, clinical or healthcare setting experience, medical terminology knowledge, strong communication and organizational skills, and team-oriented collaboration with physicians and clinical staff.
• Preferred: minimum two years of scheduling experience, NextGen experience, and knowledge of CPT, ICD9, and ICD10 codes.
