Job Description
• Scientific Data Engineer contractor supporting human computational neuroscience research at NIH/NINDS in Bethesda, MD; work mode is not specified.
• Maintain neurophysiological and behavioral datasets, including storage, backup, archival, retrieval, metadata, versioning, quality control, documentation, and safeguards for sensitive human-subject data.
• Maintain and improve large-scale data-processing pipelines; automate validation and quality-control procedures; troubleshoot failures; and transform raw recordings into standardized, analysis-ready datasets.
• Maintain the shared scientific codebase and promote version control, testing, code review, documentation, reproducible environments, and reusable research infrastructure.
• Requires a Bachelor's, Master's, or doctoral degree in a quantitative field, strong MATLAB programming, scientific/data-processing software experience, large or complex dataset experience, and familiarity with version control; preferred experience includes neurophysiological time-series data, signal processing, automated pipelines, storage systems, HPC/cloud, containers, workflow systems, databases, and reproducible research.
