Senior Data Scientist - Product Safety Data Analytics (GPSSC)

Job Description

• Senior Data Scientist role at General Motors LLC focused on product safety analytics, hazard monitoring, safety investigations, and emerging vehicle safety issues.
• Requires a B.S. in Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Operations Research, or another quantitative discipline, plus 5+ years of experience in applied statistics, analytics, engineering, data science, or a related field.
• Develops statistical analyses, anomaly detection, diagnostics, prognostics, root cause analysis, automated workflows, scalable analytical tools, and monitoring approaches using Python, SQL, Databricks, data pipelines, and preprocessing workflows.
• Communicates data-driven findings to stakeholders through senior leadership, collaborates across functions, and mentors less experienced team members.
• Hybrid role requiring work at a GM office/factory at least 3 times per week; GM does not provide immigration sponsorship, including H1-B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, or J-1 support.
