Job Description

• Senior Scientist / Synthetic Organic Chemist in Pfizer's Process Chemistry group within Chemical Research and Development in Groton, CT; full-time, on-site laboratory role.
• Design and develop scalable synthetic processes and robust routes for APIs and drug candidates, including small molecules, peptides, lipids, and other complex modalities.
• Conduct laboratory experimentation, interpret analytical data, use electronic notebooks, and apply modern synthetic chemistry, statistical experimental design, computational methods, and automated laboratory technologies.
• Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams with chemists, analysts, engineers, technologists, Analytical R&D, manufacturing specialists, and third-party facilities; prepare technical transfer documentation.
• Requires a PhD in Organic Chemistry or completion within 9 months; no industrial experience required. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship; U.S. visa sponsorship is unavailable.
• Salary: $93,600-$156,000/year base, plus a 12.5% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.
