Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description

• Senior Systems Engineer supporting technology systems, networking, data centers, physical and virtual server environments, and infrastructure projects for Paterson Public Schools in Paterson, NJ.
• Requires a minimum of 8 years as an IT system administrator, network administrator, or similar role; school infrastructure experience preferred; Bachelor’s degree preferred, with equivalent experience potentially accepted.
• Administers VMware, Active Directory, Google systems, Google Workspace for Education Plus, Apple device services/mobile device management, backups, disaster recovery, security, and directory integrations.
• Performs complex troubleshooting, system audits, performance monitoring, infrastructure deployments, technical compliance assessments, and responses to audits, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments.
• Requires a valid driver’s license with no serious violations, citizenship/residency/work authorization, strong integrity, English communication skills, and availability for evening/weekend work and, when necessary, 24/7 coverage.
• Full-time position with a salary of $100,000-$105,000 per year; starting date is immediately and the posting is open until filled.
