Sr Phlebotomist II – Day Shift

Job Description

• Independently perform venipuncture and capillary punctures for adult and pediatric patients, process specimens, and route them for laboratory analysis.
• Use Epic computer system modules and other applications to verify patient information, document orders and collection details, manage encounters, and process laboratory-related clerical work.
• Perform senior-level duties including charge responsibilities, staff training, student teaching, workload reassignment, technical guidance, and department oversight when a manager or team leader is absent.
• Maintain specimen integrity through correct collection, labeling, handling, delivery, and processing according to LHMC policies, written protocols, and NCCLS standards.
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, five years of full-time phlebotomy experience including at least one year at LHMC, rotating weekends/holidays, off-site work as needed, and influenza vaccination as a condition of employment.
