Sr. Software Engineer, Threat Intelligence

Job Description

• Senior-level, hands-on software engineering role focused on full-stack applications and backend services for Proofpoint's Threat Intelligence team.
• Build and maintain systems using Python, TypeScript, React, and Go, while managing large SQL databases, schema design, queries, migrations, and operational health.
• Manage AWS infrastructure including EC2, RDS/Aurora, VPCs, ECS, networking, SNS/SQS, and CDK; follow CI/CD, observability, and monitoring best practices.
• Requires substantive production or enterprise Python experience, PostgreSQL experience or equivalent relational database expertise, and hands-on AWS infrastructure management experience.
• Preferred experience includes FastAPI, ClickHouse or analytical datastores, security-vendor telemetry, knowledge graphs, graph databases, AI-assisted tooling, PostgreSQL at scale, CLI/TUI tooling, and Agentic/MCP technologies.
