Sr. Specialist, Opto-Mechanical Engineer (Space Systems)

Job Description

• Senior-level hands-on mechanical engineering role supporting the design and development of space-based infrared sensors, precision space structures, mechanisms, and special test equipment in Fort Wayne, IN.
• Perform CAD modeling, opto-mechanical design, tolerance and sensitivity analysis, alignment error budgeting, and integration of infrared sensors into spacecraft payload assemblies.
• Develop precision alignment tools, fixtures, procedures, and verification documentation supporting micron-level and arc-second accuracy; execute laboratory measurement, metrology, and environmental robustness testing.
• Requires a B.S. in Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience, a graduate Engineering degree with 4+ years, or 10+ years in lieu of a degree; also requires 2+ years of opto-mechanical analysis and CAD/mechanical design experience.
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens. Full-time 9/80 schedule.
