Summer Intern - Mechanical / Industrial / Manufacturing

Job Description

• Summer Mechanical Department internship supporting locomotive and railcar operations, industrial engineering, process improvement, operational efficiency, and safety.
• Assigned to a major Union Pacific locomotive or railcar facility in Nebraska, Illinois, Texas, Arkansas, or Missouri; hybrid work may include on-site and work-from-home activity as allowed.
• Develop standard work documentation and value stream maps, improve shop processes, solve component failure issues, and apply Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Requires at least one year of undergraduate college credits, a valid driver's license, Microsoft Office proficiency, and authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship; applicants must be 18 or older.
• Full-time summer internship paying an estimated $23-$28 per hour, with potential non-traditional hours and travel.
