Tactical Vehicle Armor Designer – GM Defense

Job Description

• Lead the design, integration, and optimization of armor, structural components, installation kits, blast-mitigating components, and spall liner integrations for tactical vehicles.
• Create advanced Siemens NX 3D models, large assemblies, parametric designs, and manufacturing drawings for armor, chassis/body modifications, and vehicle subsystems.
• Apply SWaP-C tracking, DFM/DFA, CAE analysis, ASME Y14.5 GD&T, and manufacturing knowledge to meet performance, survivability, quality, and timing requirements.
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline and 7+ years of mechanical design experience in defense, armored vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles, or tactical equipment.
• Hybrid role requiring onsite work in Warren, MI or Milford, MI at least three times per week; candidates must be U.S. Persons and comply with ITAR requirements.
