West Valley - Secondary English Teacher

Job Description

• Full-time, on-site Secondary English Teacher position for the 2026–2027 school year at American Preparatory Academy in West Valley City, UT.
• Design and deliver secondary English/Language Arts curriculum covering reading, writing, literature, grammar, composition, vocabulary, research, critical thinking, and communication.
• Assess coursework, monitor academic progress, provide intervention or enrichment, maintain student records, and assist with standardized testing.
• Maintain a structured, supportive classroom; supervise students across assigned settings; and follow school policies related to safety, security, and supervision.
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree and appropriate state accreditation/teaching license; prior teaching experience is highly preferred, with specialized secondary English/Language Arts training and a Master’s degree highly preferred.
